Sugarpod: Can't Have Too Much of a Good Thing!
Last week, ClaratyVoices was delighted to attend yet another Sugarpod Productions Gaming Voiceover Workshop! In attendance representing ClaratyVoices were our delightful talents, Kelsey Egan, Will Bowdery, Fee Mak and Nic Pound and our very own senior voice agent, Lexi Myers!
Had a fantastic morning at Kerry Corran’s (@kerry.corran) Voice Over for Gaming workshop this week with some of our brilliant artists. I even jumped in the booth myself! 🎙️ Learned so many invaluable tricks of the trade — Kerry’s experience in directing, casting, and producing really shines through. One of many factors that sets our talent apart is their commitment to ongoing professional development. Kelsey Egan, for example, is a dual citizen of the United States and South Africa, she was endorsed by PACT in 2024 and obtained an Exceptional Talent visa to work in the United Kingdom. She is now based in London, and after more than a decade acting and preforming stunt work, continues to develop skills through workshops like Sugarpod.
Will Bowdery has taken quite a winding path to a voiceover career! As a former astrophysicist, Will applies his intelligence and diligence toward extensive training in voice acting and improv. He has worked on narration projects, commercials, instructional materials, games, and animations and has clients based in the UK, US, and Switzerland. We were delighted to see Will in London at the Sugarpod workshop and experience his English Received Pronunciation (RP), Heightened RP, General British, London, Cockney, and General American accents up close.
Fee Mak has a voice we know you've heard. As a radio and TV presented based in London, she is host of the BBC Radio 1Xtra Breakfast show! Fee has presented a variety of live events in arts, media and sport including the BBC Bitesize Tour, AIM Awards, MOBOs for BBC Radio 1Xtra, Earl’s Court Int’l Film Festival and live in-game hosting for London Spirit at The Hundred.
Passionate about dance, Fee hosts some of the biggest events in the UK including the Red Bull BC One UK Cypher, Move It, UK Hip Hop Dance Championships and the Great Big Dance Off. Fee was a junior associate at The Royal Ballet School as well as a ballet girl on the Westend musical, Billy Elliot at 10 years old. She is an inspirational speaker with a voice that informs, entertains, and inspires. What a joy to share the gaming recording booth with Fee at Sugarpod!
Nic Pound's rich, resonant voice has made him a natural choice for dramatic roles such as Jean Valjean in Les Misérables, Old Deuteronomy in Cats, and Daddy Warbucks in Annie. Fluent in French, Nic joined us for the Sugarpond workshop to work his beautiful, moving voice in new directions.
We adore the professional at Sugarpod and love sharing valuable in-person time with our talent.
